The Driving School prides its self in being able to offer our learner drivers a more relaxed approach when learning to drive. The Instructor will always match the driver’s abilities with the learning. The learner driver will not be pushed beyond there limitations. Each pupil has their own unique style of learning and our instructors have the ability to define this. Our instructors having assessed you will know the best form of teaching to suit you.
Not all instructors are capable of determining this and that is why at times you may have taken lessons somewhere else and feltl that you have not progressed.
Think back to school who was your favourite teacher and why? And who did you not like – the one you choose will be the one to whom you learnt the most, and when looking for a driving instructor this should be no different.
We are proud that we get our pupils to a standard above that of the test. We've found that it's your nerves that generally what let you down on the day, and we're here to give you as much support & help as you need to overcome this. We can even put you in touch with our hypnotherapist, personal counsellor if need be. On the other end of our phone line is a qualified Instructor that can chat with you about any concerns that you may have.

How Many Driving Lessons will I need?
The DSA recommend that every new driver should receive 45 hours tuition with a professional driving instructor and then further outside driving with family / friends. You must remember this is only an average and it is quite common for some pupils to have 60 hours or more...
It should never be a competition with friends nor pier pressure from parents. All learners pass when they are ready and whether it is after 30 lessons or 60, 1st attempt to 10th it does not matter. No driver can say that further lessons would not benefit them in the wake of staying alive on today’s roads.
Funny as it may sound but I Joanne a qualified instructor of 10 yrs with many driving certificates, still to this day continues to have periodic advanced driving sessions from my colleagues.
The DSA intend to bring into force in the near future a minimum number of driving lessons with a professional drving instructor before being able to apply for the practical test. This is in place to deter pupils that feel they are ready after only 25 – 30 lessons.
So let’s look at this from a realistic point of view. Based on the 45 hours of driving instruction required it means that your total investment will be approximately £900.
- 1 hour per week will take you approx 11 months
- 2 hours per week will take you approx 6 months
The Brain
The brain is very clever and when driving in familiar areas can switch off and hazards of any nature can be missed. Staying alert keeping the brain active is an important part of learning to drive. Having the ability to not only consider your actions but having the abilty to anticipate the actions of others is a difficult skill to master unfortunately many driving instructors do not spend enough time in this area of learning.

Styles of learning
Each learnerl has their own unique style of learning and our instructors have the ability to define these. Our instructors having assessed the learner will know the best form of teaching to suit. On Your Very First Driving Lesson...
If you have never driven before, don't worry your 1st driving lesson will be relax and enjoyable. You will be put at ease straight away. Your driving instructor will take you to a nice, quiet area away from all the traffic, there you will be shown step-by-step, what to do and why it is important. On your 1st lesson you will experience some driving of the car. Onceyour driving lessons progress your instructor will still be with you every step of the way until she feels you can take over some of the responsibility. It will be great fun with lots of laughs along the way.
What to Expect
The driving School ensure that each female driving instructor working with Laugh ‘n’ Pass adhere to a strict code of conduct and a service is provided to the learner driver that is one of professionalism courtesy patience value for money and safe driving. The instructors at Laugh ‘n’ Pass under their terms have agreed that they will NOT raise there voice at a learner driver.
The driving instructor will have expectations of the learner driver and those will be that the learner driver who wishes to cancel a driving lesson does so in good time, the instructor will expect the learner driver to turn up for lessons on time and with the payment, and also more importantly the learner driver should attend with the intention of giving 100% concentration to the learning. The learner driver must enter into driving lessons like they would a college course and if full attention is not given then learning will be slow and possibly non existent.
What is Your Driving Instructor Looking For?
Each of our Instructors aim to teach learner drivers to not just pass the driving test but to learn new skills that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Learning to drive on today’s roads requires much more than just having the ability to use the controls. A driver needs to be alert at all times and will need to show good control skills, good observations, confidence, and patience, the list is endless there will be times when quick decisions will have to be made. Being courteous and having the right attitude to others are also very important factors.
Our female Driving Instructors will teach you every skill. Our female Instructors CARE and will make driving lessons fun with lots of laughs along the way.
Let’s not forget the learner driver also is required to pass a theory test and hazard perception test before the practical can be done These skills taught will not be forgotten. And passing your driving test is only a bonus.

Patience is the Key
The Driving School specialise with nervous drivers and drivers that find the manoeuvres and clutch control hard to grasp. Using the gears is not something that you can learn overnight. It’s a matter of co coordinating Thinking Judging and doing. Some pupils give up too quickly and resign themselves to the fact that they will never succeed at this- but perseverance will pay off. The instructors also are experienced in building inner confidence and not just for driving, so the learner can be assured that the female driving instructor allocated will give lots of extra help during driving lesson.
The Driving School also offer specialist training for refresher & Advance driving lessons and pass plus, The School have specialised instructors who carry out assessments for fast pass courses these are intended to get you through a little quicker. This assessment comes with no obligations.
The driving school cater for both manual and automatic car tuition and may have car adaptions for those that require however it should be noted that if the learner learns in an automatic car then they will not be permitted to drive a manual car. 85% of learning to drive is about gathering information from the road and understanding what is going on out there. Decisions will always need to be made regardless as to whether the car is automatic or manual. All learners are welcome to join our team.

Our customer serice
The driving school also prides itself through its free female customer service sector. Learner drivers can call for advise on any aspect of their driving a dedicated Instructor is always on the other end of the phone.
Its not unusual for learner drivers at times to have a personality clash with the instructor after all we are only human and this is where the customer service team will listen to your concerns, the learner will be reallocated to another of the female driving instructors. All information is in the strictest of confidence. Advice on the theory test element is always to hand.
P.O.W.E.R
Within driving lessons the learner does not necessarily get shown how to put petrol in the car - your Laugh ‘n’ Pass instructor will? As a learner driver do you know where the spare wheel is kept?
SHOW ME TELL ME
Introduced to the driving experience and practical test element. At the start of you driving test the learner driver will be asked two questions that could relate to under the bonnet, the tyres or the auxiliary controls of the car. Here is a list of the questions that the learner driver may be asked. There is a lot of additional information that you will need to know once you have passed your driving test and have your own car.
